Indusfood Manufacturing 2026, along with FoodTech 4.0, was inaugurated at Yashobhoomi, IICC, New Delhi on 6 January 2026, marking the start of India’s most comprehensive platform focused on food processing, packaging, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
The event has been organised by the Trade Promotion Council of India and brings together policymakers, industry leaders, technology providers, manufacturers, and global partners across the food processing value chain.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Avinash Joshi, Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries; Mohit Singla, Chairman, Trade Promotion Council of India; Yashvir Singh, Economic Adviser, Agriculture SMD, Department of Commerce; Volker Klima, Head of Agriculture and Food Division, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany; Vikram Mulmule, Regional Sales Head, JBT Marel, USA; Vikas Kanungo, Senior AI and Digital Transformation Expert, World Bank Group; Rajashekar Venkat, President, Mamata Machinery Ltd; and Sunil Mehta, President, Automation Industries Association.
Delivering the keynote address, Avinash Joshi said India is well positioned with surplus agricultural production, a strong manufacturing base, and a young skilled workforce. He stressed that the next phase of growth lies in strengthening food processing through value addition, quality enhancement, and adoption of advanced technologies to generate employment, raise farmers’ incomes, and expand exports. He added that platforms such as Indusfood Manufacturing play a critical role in converting this potential into tangible outcomes and reaffirmed the Ministry of Food Processing Industries’ commitment to building a competitive, sustainable, and export-oriented food processing ecosystem in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Volker Klima highlighted food processing as a strategic driver of economic growth, trade, and global food security. He underlined the importance of technology, innovation, and international collaboration, particularly between India and Germany, to strengthen value addition and manufacturing capabilities and to develop and protect sustainable business models in the food sector.
Yashvir Singh emphasised that technology adoption and value addition are essential for enhancing India’s food processing capacity and export competitiveness. He said the exposure to advanced machinery and solutions at the event would help improve production, manufacturing, packaging, and storage systems, enabling India to meet domestic food requirements and supply quality products to global markets at competitive prices. He noted that strong participation from India and overseas reflects growing global interest in India’s food manufacturing ecosystem.
In his welcome address, Mohit Singla said the fifth edition of Indusfood Manufacturing has been designed with a clear national purpose to support India’s transition towards a globally competitive, technology-driven, and sustainable food processing sector aligned with Vision 2047. He highlighted the scale of the platform, featuring more than 300 exhibitors, over 27,000 square metres of exhibition space, more than 200 live machine demonstrations, and over 20,000 international trade visitors. He added that co-located events including the India Food Manufacturing Summit, the FoodTech 4.0 Conference, and the International Dairy Processing Conference together create a future-ready ecosystem for the industry.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Rajashekar Venkat, who acknowledged the support of policymakers, partners, exhibitors, and participants. The inauguration concluded with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and ribbon cutting, formally opening Indusfood Manufacturing 2026 and FoodTech 4.0 at Yashobhoomi.
Over the coming days, the event will host live technology showcases, conferences, and business interactions, reinforcing India’s push towards a sustainable, technology-led, and export-oriented food manufacturing ecosystem under the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
