Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Education Jayant Chaudhary on 8 January 2026 inaugurated a state of the art Girls’ Hostel at the National Skill Training Institute Women Panipat, reinforcing the government’s commitment to expanding women’s access to quality technical training through safe and inclusive residential infrastructure.
The newly constructed hostel has been developed over an area of 2,758 square metres as a G plus two storey facility with a strong focus on safety accessibility and sustainability. It significantly enhances the residential capacity of NSTI Women Panipat and comprises 59 rooms including a recreation room. The facility offers 50 twin sharing accommodations along with guest facilities and common spaces designed to support academic excellence personal development and a holistic campus experience. Energy efficient systems and modern amenities have been integrated to provide a secure and aspirational learning environment for young women pursuing technical careers.
Addressing the gathering Jayant Chaudhary said India’s growth journey is strengthened when young women are able to pursue their aspirations without barriers. He highlighted Haryana’s strong legacy of youth talent and excellence and said the new hostel will enable more women to confidently take up high skill career pathways and contribute meaningfully to the vision of a developed India.
The minister also referred to the recently launched SOAR Skilling for AI Readiness Skill The Nation Challenge announced on 1 January and urged students and youth to actively participate. He said learning artificial intelligence is critical to accessing new opportunities across sectors and will help learners from all backgrounds become future ready and contribute to India’s digital and economic transformation.
The new residential facility is expected to encourage greater participation of women trainees from across the state by providing a safe and supportive environment during their training. The initiative was described as a key investment in strengthening women’s participation in education and skilling while also generating positive economic and social outcomes at the local level.
With the addition of the hostel NSTI Women Panipat is now better positioned to expand enrolment in high demand trades and deepen industry partnerships that support internships placements and entrepreneurship. The development marks an important step towards advancing women led development by ensuring that aspiring women professionals have access to the infrastructure and opportunities required to succeed.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Directorate General of Training and regional skill development authorities along with faculty members trainees and local representatives.
NSTI Women Panipat has emerged as a leading centre for women’s skilling in Haryana offering industry aligned training in fields such as fashion design technology cosmetology electronics computer applications and stenography. The institute also supports national flagship initiatives including PM Vishwakarma and PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and continues to produce skilled confident and future ready women professionals contributing to India’s growing skill economy.
