Annapurna Devi Extends Greetings on National Girl Child Day Calls for Education Safety and Empowerment

Minister of Women and Child Development Smt. Annapurna Devi on Friday extended warm greetings and infinite best wishes to the country’s daughters on the occasion of National Girl Child Day, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to ensuring a bright, secure and empowered future for every girl in India.

In a message shared on social media platform X, the Minister emphasised the central role of girls in nation building and social progress. Quoting the message “Balika Devo Bhavaḥ”, she stated that girls are the strength and foundation of society’s advancement, and that ensuring their education, safety and equal rights is the hallmark of a strong and progressive nation.

Smt. Annapurna Devi said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Women and Child Development remains steadfastly committed to the all-round development, protection and empowerment of girls across the country. She highlighted that focused interventions and sustained policy support are being pursued to create opportunities for girls to realise their full potential.

Calling upon citizens to collectively reaffirm their commitment, the Minister urged society to provide every girl with an enabling environment that is safe, inclusive and respectful, allowing them to move forward with confidence and dignity. She said National Girl Child Day serves as an important reminder to renew efforts towards education, safety and empowerment of daughters, ensuring that no girl is left behind.

The message concluded with a call for collective responsibility, encouraging all stakeholders to work together to support the aspirations of girls and strengthen the foundations of an equitable and empowered India.
