Bharat Electricity Summit 2026, a global conference and exhibition for the power and electricity sector, will be held from 19 to 22 March 2026 at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi. The announcement was made on 15 January 2026 by the Union Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs, marking the formal commencement of preparations for one of the largest international gatherings in the electricity domain.

The four day summit will be organised around the theme Electrifying Growth Empowering Sustainability Connecting Globally, highlighting India’s expanding leadership in the global energy transition while addressing emerging challenges and opportunities across the power sector. The event is designed as a comprehensive platform for dialogue, collaboration and partnership building among domestic and international stakeholders from government, industry, academia and civil society.

The summit is expected to host more than 50 high level conference sessions, supported by expert led panel discussions, thematic pavilions and advanced technology showcases covering the entire electricity and clean energy value chain. Over 500 exhibitors will participate, with attendance projected to exceed 25,000 visitors. The programme will feature more than 1,000 delegates and 300 speakers from India and across the world.

Bharat Electricity Summit 2026 will bring together global policymakers, chief executives, senior government leaders, electricity experts, regulators, investors, innovators and solution providers. The discussions and networking sessions will focus on accelerating progress across generation, transmission, distribution, storage and smart electricity consumption, while fostering strategic partnerships and cross sector cooperation.

A key feature of the summit will be a dedicated buyer seller meet aimed at facilitating business linkages, accelerating partnerships and unlocking new opportunities across the global power supply chain. This initiative is expected to support cross border collaboration and investment flows to speed up clean electricity deployment and infrastructure development.

The exhibition component of the summit will provide a unique opportunity for organisations to showcase technologies, systems and solutions across power generation, transmission, distribution, energy storage and battery technologies, energy efficiency, energy transition initiatives and start up innovations. Manufacturers, suppliers, contractors and technology developers from India and abroad will be represented.

Speaking at the announcement, the Power Minister said the summit reflects India’s resolve to shape the future of electricity systems at a time when the national focus has shifted from managing shortages to ensuring resilience, surplus management and universal excellence. He noted that the summit would serve not only as a showcase of achievements but also as a launchpad for future collaboration, bringing technology providers, infrastructure developers, innovators and decision makers onto a common platform.

The minister also acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Power, its public sector enterprises, supporting ministries, state and union territory governments and industry bodies in advancing India’s electricity vision and setting the foundation for the summit.

The announcement event was attended by senior officials from the power sector, including representatives of central electricity authorities and regulatory bodies, officials from allied ministries, state and union territory representatives, embassy officials and industry associations. Senior executives from generation, transmission and distribution companies also participated through virtual mode.
