Online Ticket Booking Goes Live for ASI Monuments on ONDC Network

Online ticket booking for more than 170 centrally protected monuments and museums of the Archaeological Survey of India has gone live on the Open Network for Digital Commerce, marking a significant expansion of digital access to India’s cultural heritage.

The initiative, launched under the Ministry of Culture, enables visitors from India and abroad to book entry tickets to some of the country’s most iconic monuments and museums through multiple digital platforms. By integrating ASI’s ticketing system with an open and interoperable digital network, the move enhances accessibility, convenience, and transparency in the delivery of public services.

With this integration, citizens and tourists can purchase tickets using a variety of ONDC-enabled applications, eliminating dependence on a single booking platform. Online booking also allows visitors to bypass physical ticketing queues at monuments and museums, ensuring faster and smoother entry.

Visitors booking ASI monument tickets through ONDC-enabled applications will continue to receive existing benefits, including a discount of ₹5 for Indian visitors and ₹50 for foreign nationals.

The technical integration has been carried out by NDML, which has onboarded ASI’s complete inventory of monuments and museums onto the ONDC network. Tickets are currently available through platforms such as Highway Delite across web and mobile applications, Pelocal’s WhatsApp-based ticketing service, and Abhee by Mondee on Android and iOS. Several additional consumer-facing applications are at various stages of integration and are expected to join the network soon.

The rollout represents a major step in leveraging digital public infrastructure to improve visitor experience while strengthening access to India’s protected heritage sites through a modern, efficient, and user-friendly system.
