Passing Out Parade at INS Chilka to Mark Induction of 02 25 Batch into Indian Navy

The Passing Out Parade of the 02/25 batch of trainees will be held at INS Chilka on 8 January 2026, marking the successful completion of 16 weeks of intensive ab initio training designed to prepare recruits for the demands of modern naval operations.

The parade will see around 2,700 trainees formally step into active naval service, including approximately 2,100 Agniveers, among whom more than 110 are women. The event represents a significant milestone for the young sailors as they begin their professional journey in service of the nation.

The ceremony will be reviewed by Sameer Saxena, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief of the Southern Naval Command, who will be the Chief Guest for the post sunset parade. The occasion will be attended by the families of the trainees, along with distinguished veterans and eminent sports personalities, lending the event both emotional depth and ceremonial grandeur.

The Passing Out Parade underscores the Indian Navy’s strong emphasis on training as the foundation of a professional and combat ready force. INS Chilka continues to play a central role in shaping raw recruits into capable sailors by instilling discipline, resilience and operational competence required to serve on advanced naval platforms.

Following the parade, the Chief Guest will preside over the valedictory function, during which awards and trophies will be presented to meritorious trainees and the Champion Division. The bilingual trainees magazine Ankur will also be unveiled on the occasion.

To enable wider public participation, the Passing Out Parade will be live streamed on the Indian Navy YouTube channel, Facebook page and the regional Doordarshan network.
