Rozgar Mela at Jammu Distributes Appointment Letters to Youth as Prime Minister Addresses Nationwide Event

A Rozgar Mela was organised at the Frontier Headquarters of the Border Security Force in Paloura, Jammu, as part of the nationwide programme for distribution of appointment letters to newly recruited youth. The event marked the eighteenth tranche of the Rozgar Mela, held simultaneously at 40 locations across the country, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing the selected candidates through virtual mode.

The Jammu event was presided over by Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan, who distributed appointment letters to newly recruited candidates drawn from different regions of Jammu. The programme formed part of the Government of India’s sustained effort to strengthen transparent, merit-based recruitment across central ministries and departments.

Addressing the gathering, the Union Minister underlined the government’s commitment to youth empowerment, employment generation and inclusive development. He said the Rozgar Mela reflects the Prime Minister’s vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas, and serves as a concrete platform to translate this vision into opportunities for young Indians.

The Minister paid tribute to the armed forces, highlighting the sacrifices made by soldiers guarding the nation’s frontiers to ensure peace, security and stability. He said their dedication has earned India a respected and dignified position on the global stage and continues to inspire the nation’s youth to serve with integrity and commitment.

Emphasising the importance of clean and transparent recruitment, the Union Minister said initiatives such as the Rozgar Mela stand as strong examples of the government’s resolve to ensure corruption-free and merit-driven appointments. He urged the newly appointed candidates to discharge their duties with honesty, dedication and a sense of national service, contributing to the realisation of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

The Minister further noted that structured recruitment drives play a crucial role in bringing marginalised and underrepresented sections of society into the mainstream. He said such initiatives not only provide employment but also offer dignity, stability and long-term career prospects, thereby strengthening the social and economic fabric of the country.

The event saw participation from officials of various departments, representatives of recruiting agencies, newly appointed candidates and their family members, who appreciated the government’s efforts to create employment opportunities through a fair and transparent process.

The Rozgar Mela at Jammu was part of the national-level initiative under which Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed more than 61,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth across the country.

Senior officials present on the occasion included Border Security Force Additional Director General, Western Command Satish Khandare, Inspector General BSF Jammu Shashank Anand, along with other dignitaries.
