Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram visited the Shri Banke Bihari Temple in Mathura district and offered prayers to Lord Krishna, seeking peace, prosperity and well being for all citizens of the country. The visit formed part of his engagements in Uttar Pradesh, combining spiritual outreach with a review of rural infrastructure linked to farmer welfare.
At the temple, Jual Oram participated in traditional rituals and offered prayers at one of the country’s most revered Krishna shrines. The Shri Banke Bihari Temple, located in Vrindavan in Mathura district, attracts lakhs of devotees annually and holds deep cultural and spiritual significance. The Minister conveyed his prayers for harmony and collective progress, underscoring the importance of preserving spiritual heritage alongside development initiatives.
Subsequently, Jual Oram travelled to Bas Amru village under the Sadabad Assembly constituency in Hathras district, where he inspected a potato cold storage facility serving local farmers. During the visit, he reviewed storage infrastructure, cold chain mechanisms and operational systems designed to prevent post harvest losses and stabilise farm incomes.
The Minister examined storage capacity, temperature control systems and logistical arrangements. He directed officials and facility management to accord the highest priority to farmers’ interests, enhance storage capacity in line with growing production and ensure transparency and efficiency in operations. He emphasised that robust cold chain infrastructure is essential for reducing wastage, improving price realisation and strengthening agricultural value chains.
Interacting with local residents and potato farmers in Bas Amru village, Jual Oram listened to concerns related to fair pricing of agricultural produce, expansion of storage facilities and effective implementation of government schemes. Farmers highlighted the need for adequate storage to avoid distress sales during peak harvest periods and sought continued policy support to improve returns.
Responding to the issues raised, the Minister assured the farming community that the Central Government remains committed to farmer welfare, income enhancement and strengthening agricultural infrastructure. He reiterated that various schemes aimed at improving storage, market access and rural development are being implemented with focus on transparency and accountability.
The visit reflected a dual emphasis on spiritual values and grassroots development. By combining temple outreach with direct engagement with farmers and infrastructure review, the programme underscored the Government’s approach of integrating cultural heritage, rural development and farmer centric policy implementation.
