The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting tableau at the 77th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, presented a sweeping narrative of India’s timeless storytelling tradition and its contemporary global media aspirations. Titled “Bharat Gatha Shruti Kriti Drishti,” the tableau traced India’s journey from ancient oral traditions to modern media platforms, cinema and digital storytelling, reflecting the nation’s cultural continuity and creative evolution.
The tableau depicted how India’s storytelling heritage has been preserved and reimagined across generations, beginning with the oral transmission of knowledge and values through Shruti, evolving into written and performative traditions represented by Kriti, and culminating in Drishti, symbolising the modern visual and digital media landscape. This progression illustrated the seamless flow of narrative expression across centuries, highlighting storytelling as a defining force of India’s civilisational identity.
Through visually rich elements, the presentation showcased India’s emergence as a global content powerhouse, where traditional narratives coexist with cutting-edge technology and contemporary formats.
