NIELIT Launches Digital Studio And Expands Industry Partnerships

The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology marked a significant step in strengthening India’s digital skilling ecosystem with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Digital Recording Studio and the signing of twelve strategic partnerships aimed at enhancing industry aligned training and innovation.

The Digital Recording Studio at NIELIT Bhawan in New Delhi was inaugurated by S. Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, in the presence of M. M. Tripathi, Director General, NIELIT. The facility has been established under the Ministry’s EdTech initiative to support the creation of high quality digital learning content and to advance technology enabled education across the country.

The studio will serve as a key content development hub for the NIELIT Digital University platform, which is emerging as a major national initiative for digital skilling and learning. It is expected to significantly enhance the quality, scale and accessibility of digital education resources.

Addressing the gathering, S. Krishnan highlighted NIELIT’s role in expanding access to quality skilling, particularly in remote and underserved regions. He noted the institution’s strong presence in the North Eastern States and Union Territories including Jammu and Kashmir, and shared that many NIELIT trained candidates are contributing to governance systems, including working in State Secretariats.

He also traced the institution’s evolution from its origins in the 1980s, when industry oriented postgraduate and diploma programmes were introduced with a focus on practical and design skills. He emphasised that NIELIT has consistently aligned its training programmes with industry needs and has grown into a comprehensive institution catering to learners across levels.

M. M. Tripathi stated that the Digital Recording Studio will strengthen in house content creation capabilities and support large scale skilling initiatives, enabling NIELIT to deliver high quality digital education at scale.

A major highlight of the event was the exchange of twelve Memoranda of Understanding with leading institutions and organisations, including Chanakya University, National Institute of Open Schooling, Cyber Security Association of India, Pavan Duggal Associates, Centre for Policy Research and Governance, Jindal Steel Limited, Virtu Tech Private Limited, Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies Technical Campus, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, SKD University, Rashtriya Raksha University and Hacktivspace Private Limited.

These partnerships are aimed at strengthening industry aligned skilling, advancing curriculum development in emerging technologies, promoting research and innovation, and enhancing capacity building, internships and employability opportunities for learners.

The collaborations are expected to play a crucial role in building a future ready workforce by bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, while fostering innovation and technological expertise.

NIELIT, an autonomous scientific society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, continues to play a pioneering role in digital empowerment and skill development.
