Nitin Gadkari Launches Revamped Rajmarg Pravesh Portal for Faster Transparent NOC Approvals

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday launched the upgraded RAJMARG PRAVESH web portal to streamline and digitise the process of granting No Objection Certificates for access and utility permissions along National Highways.

The revamped portal has been developed to ensure a hassle free, transparent and time bound approval mechanism for fuel stations, wayside amenities, private properties, rest area complexes, connecting roads and other facilities seeking access to National Highways. The initiative aligns with the Government’s focus on improving ease of doing business and enhancing digital governance.

The RAJMARG PRAVESH portal enables citizens, businesses and organisations to submit online applications for permissions related to highway access for private properties, industrial establishments and wayside infrastructure. It also facilitates approvals for both government and private entities to lay utilities such as water pipelines, gas pipelines, optical fibre cables, electrical lines and other services along or across National Highways.

By shifting the entire process to a digital platform, the Ministry aims to reduce procedural delays, eliminate manual intervention, and ensure greater accountability. The system is designed to provide a simplified application interface, defined timelines and improved tracking of proposals, thereby saving time and effort for applicants.

The upgraded platform is expected to significantly enhance transparency in decision making and create a predictable approval framework for infrastructure development along National Highways, supporting both public utility expansion and private investment.

Senior officials present at the launch included V Umashankar, Secretary Road Transport and Highways; Vinay Kumar Rajawat, Director General Roads and Special Secretary; Santosh Kumar Yadav, Chairman National Highways Authority of India; Krishan Kumar, Managing Director National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited; Vishal Chauhan, Member Administration National Highways Authority of India; along with other senior officers of the Ministry.

The launch of the revamped portal marks a key step in modernising highway administration processes and reinforcing a digital first approach to infrastructure governance.
