PRAGATI Completes Fifty Reviews Strengthening Tech Driven Governance and Accountability

The PRAGATI mechanism for Pro Active Governance and Timely Implementation has completed fifty review meetings, marking a significant milestone in institutionalising technology enabled, outcome oriented governance at the national level. Senior officials led by the Cabinet Secretary briefed the media on the outcomes and impact of PRAGATI, which is chaired by the Prime Minister and has emerged as a central platform for monitoring and accelerating projects of national importance.

During the briefing, the Cabinet Secretary outlined the structured project and issue escalation framework embedded within the PRAGATI ecosystem. The mechanism enables systematic identification, monitoring and resolution of issues through clearly defined institutional pathways involving Union Ministries, State Governments and implementing agencies. Issues are first examined and addressed at the Ministry level, while more complex and inter sectoral challenges are escalated through designated coordination channels for higher level intervention.

The Cabinet Secretary explained that critical matters requiring cross ministerial alignment or state level coordination are ultimately reviewed during PRAGATI meetings chaired by the Prime Minister. This escalation architecture ensures that bottlenecks are resolved through timely decisions, unified direction and clear accountability, preventing delays in large infrastructure, social sector and economic development projects.

Officials emphasised that PRAGATI has strengthened inter ministerial coordination by bringing multiple stakeholders onto a single digital platform. The mechanism enables real time review of project progress, facilitates data driven decision making and ensures follow up on agreed actions. By combining advanced technology with high level oversight, PRAGATI has helped fast track implementation, resolve long pending issues and improve delivery outcomes across sectors.

The Cabinet Secretary noted that PRAGATI has evolved into a robust governance tool that reinforces transparency and responsibility while empowering both central and state authorities to act swiftly. The mechanism’s emphasis on structured escalation and resolution has institutionalised a culture of proactive governance, ensuring that obstacles are addressed before they translate into prolonged delays.

As PRAGATI completes fifty reviews, it stands as a key pillar of India’s governance architecture, demonstrating how technology enabled monitoring and leadership driven oversight can accelerate development, enhance accountability and deliver results in projects critical to national growth and public welfare.
