Headquarters Western Air Command organised the Sindoor Shaurya Samman Sammelan to pay a solemn tribute to gallant Air Warriors whose exemplary courage, leadership and devotion to duty have brought distinction to the Indian Air Force and honour to the Nation.
The ceremony recognised Air Force personnel who were conferred prestigious Presidential Awards for acts of conspicuous bravery, exceptional leadership and selfless service in demanding operational environments. Their actions reflected rare courage, precision in execution and an unwavering commitment to mission success, exemplifying the highest traditions of the Indian Air Force and its enduring ethos of Service Before Self.
Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra, Air Officer Commanding in Chief, Western Air Command, presided over the event and personally interacted with the awardees. Addressing the gathering, he commended the decorated Air Warriors for their professionalism, sound judgement under pressure and steadfast resolve in complex and high-risk operational situations. He emphasised that sustained operational excellence is built on rigorous training, seamless coordination of resources and the indomitable spirit of Air Warriors who remain ready to respond decisively at all times.
The event also provided an opportunity for meaningful interaction between the awardees and Air Veterans, who shared their operational experiences, insights and institutional wisdom, reinforcing the strong bond across generations of Air Force personnel.
