India Energy Week 2026 Hydrogen Zone Showcases Pathways For Low Carbon Energy Transition

India Energy Week 2026 marked a significant milestone in India’s clean energy journey with the inauguration of the Hydrogen Zone, underscoring the country’s growing focus on low-carbon and future-ready energy solutions. The Hydrogen Zone was inaugurated by Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri following the inaugural ceremony of India Energy Week 2026, currently underway in Goa.

Hosted by Oil India, the Hydrogen Zone has been curated as a dedicated platform to showcase cutting-edge technologies and solutions across the hydrogen value chain. The zone presents innovations in hydrogen production, storage, transportation and end-use applications, offering a comprehensive perspective on how hydrogen is emerging as a critical pillar of the global clean energy transition.

The exhibits highlight multiple pathways through which hydrogen can contribute to decarbonisation, particularly in hard-to-abate sectors such as oil refining, fertilisers, steel manufacturing, heavy mobility and long-haul transport. By bringing together technology providers, energy companies, researchers and solution developers, the Hydrogen Zone demonstrates how hydrogen can complement renewable energy, improve energy security and support India’s transition towards a low-carbon economy.

Through curated displays and industry participation, the Hydrogen Zone provides policymakers, investors and business leaders with direct insights into scalable hydrogen solutions and evolving business models. The platform also reflects India’s ambition to position itself as a competitive and reliable player in emerging global hydrogen markets, aligned with national priorities on energy independence, sustainability and industrial growth.

The Hydrogen Zone is one of eleven strategically curated thematic zones at India Energy Week 2026, which together form the core of the exhibition experience. These zones are designed to facilitate focused engagement on priority areas, enabling stakeholders to explore technologies, partnerships and investment opportunities aligned with their strategic objectives.

India Energy Week 2026 has emerged as a major global energy convening, bringing together more than 75,000 energy professionals, over 700 participating companies and delegates from more than 120 countries. In addition to the Hydrogen Zone, the exhibition features thematic areas covering Renewable Energy, Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence, Biofuels, LNG Ecosystem, City Gas Distribution, Petrochemicals, Make in India initiatives, and the India Net Zero Zone, among others.

By integrating technology showcases with policy dialogue and global collaboration, the Hydrogen Zone reinforces India Energy Week’s role as a platform where innovation, investment and partnerships converge. The initiative reflects India’s commitment to advancing secure, affordable and sustainable energy solutions while contributing meaningfully to global climate and decarbonisation goals.
