Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah said the India AI Impact Summit 2026 has positioned the country for leadership in a new technological era, building upon milestones achieved in recent years and setting an ethical direction for the global artificial intelligence landscape.

In a series of posts on the social media platform X, Amit Shah described the summit as a defining moment in India’s technological journey. He stated that by hosting one of the largest gatherings of global leaders and technology companies, India has asserted its role not only as a participant in the AI revolution but as a shaper of its moral and developmental trajectory.

“India AI Impact Summit-2026 poises India for leadership in new era building upon the milestones achieved under Modi government. Hosting largest constellations of global leaders and tech giants, India sets ethical direction for new era with ancient mantra of universal happiness and welfare,” Amit Shah wrote.

Future may be unseen for many but India has already taken charge of destiny,” he stated.

Highlighting the broader philosophical and policy framework underpinning India’s AI strategy, Amit Shah referred to the AI vision MANAV articulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the summit. He said the vision provides a moral compass for the global development of artificial intelligence.

“India’s AI vision MANAV put forth by Modi Ji at India AI Impact Summit-2026 sets humanity’s direction towards foolproof future. With principles of morality, accountability, national data sovereignty, accessibility and valid systems world is ready for the next civilisational leap,” he wrote.

According to Amit Shah, the emphasis on morality, accountability and data sovereignty reflects India’s approach to ensuring that AI systems remain aligned with human values, public interest and national priorities. He suggested that these principles will serve as safeguards as AI technologies become increasingly embedded in governance, industry and everyday life.

The Union Home Minister also pointed to Sarvam AI, showcased at the summit, as an example of India’s technological capability and inclusive vision. He said the platform demonstrates how innovation can be scaled across linguistic and demographic diversity.

“Sarvam AI showcased at India AI Impact Summit-2026 testifies why tomorrow belongs to India. Providing cutting-edge AI solutions in 22 Indian languages it ensures technology reaches every hand paving way for Modi Ji’s vision of Viksit Bharat where technology is trusted ally of citizen,” Amit Shah stated.

By enabling AI solutions in 22 Indian languages, Sarvam AI aims to expand access to digital tools and services, bridging linguistic barriers and supporting the objective of inclusive growth. The initiative reflects a broader push to democratise advanced technologies and ensure their benefits are distributed equitably across regions and communities.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 brought together global policymakers, technology leaders, innovators and industry stakeholders to deliberate on responsible AI, governance frameworks and scalable deployment. Amit Shah’s remarks underscored the government’s position that India’s AI trajectory is anchored in democratic values, ethical safeguards and national development goals.

The Union Home Minister’s statements signal that India intends to combine technological ambition with normative leadership, seeking to influence not only how AI is built, but how it is governed and applied for societal benefit.
