Bhupender Yadav emphasised the need for balanced and sustainable use of natural resources while presiding over meetings and a medal distribution ceremony at the Indian Institute of Forest Management in Bhopal.
During his visit to the institute campus, Bhupender Yadav chaired various meetings, including the annual general meeting of the IIFM Society. He also presented Gold and Silver Medals to meritorious students from previous batches at a ceremony held in the institute auditorium.
Addressing students and faculty, Bhupender Yadav underlined the importance of maintaining harmony between development and environmental conservation. He said that ancient Indian traditions have long advocated a balanced relationship with nature and cautioned that uncontrolled exploitation of natural resources could result in serious ecological imbalance.
He observed that India has consistently raised concerns related to environmental protection at the global level and continues to play a proactive role in promoting environmental responsibility and sustainable practices.
Appreciating the functioning of the Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhupender Yadav noted that the institute has demonstrated strong performance in recent years. He highlighted that students have been securing excellent placement opportunities, reflecting the academic rigour and professional relevance of the programmes offered. He extended his best wishes to the students for their future endeavours.
The visit combined policy deliberations with academic engagement, reinforcing the role of institutions such as the Indian Institute of Forest Management in building leadership and capacity in the forestry and environmental sectors.
