Bihar Development Summit Signals National Momentum for Viksit Bihar 2047

The Bihar Development Summit 2026, organised by the Let’s Inspire Bihar movement at Talkatora Stadium on February 22nd, emerged as a landmark national convergence dedicated to the vision of building a Viksit Bihar within Viksit Bharat by 2047. With more than 5,000 registrations recorded till the previous day and participation from delegates across India and abroad, the summit reflected the expanding credibility, organisational strength, and national resonance of the movement

The programme was inaugurated by Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of Textiles. The Chief Guests included Vijay Kumar Sinha, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar handling Land and Revenue, and Dilip Jaiswal, Minister of Industries and Road Construction, Government of Bihar. The summit was led by Vikas Vaibhav, IPS, Chief Patron of Let’s Inspire Bihar.

The ceremonial lamp lighting accompanied by Mangalacharan marked the formal inauguration, symbolising collective resolve for Bihar’s resurgence. The event commenced with thematic songs of the movement and an audio visual presentation chronicling the four year journey of Let’s Inspire Bihar. Cultural performances were presented by Manisha Jha, Deepak Thakur, Nitu Kumari Nutan, Poet Shambhu Shikhar, Poet Tishya Shree and Poet Nilotpal Mrinal.

Launched on March 22, 2021 by Vikas Vaibhav, Let’s Inspire Bihar seeks to build a developed Bihar and contribute to a developed India by 2047. The movement rests on the pillars of education, equality and entrepreneurship, aiming to ensure that no individual is compelled to leave Bihar for education, employment or healthcare. More than three lakh volunteers are currently associated with the platform, and nearly 600 start ups are connected with the initiative.

Under its entrepreneurship roadmap, the movement has set a target of establishing five start ups in each district by 2028, with each venture generating more than 100 jobs. The Gargi Chapter of the movement operates 30 free education centres across 16 districts, benefitting more than 2,000 underprivileged children. Additionally, 103 individuals residing outside Bihar, including several abroad, are contributing to the development of their native villages and panchayats.

In his keynote address, Vikas Vaibhav expressed gratitude to Giriraj Singh, Vijay Kumar Sinha and Dilip Jaiswal for their presence and acknowledged the participation of delegates who travelled from London, Dubai and Vietnam. He stated that over 5,000 individuals had registered for the summit and that more than 3.5 lakh people are now connected with the campaign.

Recalling the movement’s origins, he referred to an incident on January 12, 2021 in Patna when only three individuals had expressed optimism about Bihar’s future. He said that moment shaped his resolve to convert scattered belief into organised conviction. Addressing social divisions, he emphasised that rigid and destructive casteism must not define Bihar’s identity and asserted that transformation must come from within the state. He reiterated that the goal is to build a Bihar where migration for basic needs becomes unnecessary and where entrepreneurial aspiration reaches every Panchayat.

Giriraj Singh stated that Bihar’s development is indispensable for India’s comprehensive progress. He described Bihar as a historic intellectual nucleus of India that must reclaim its economic and industrial stature. He highlighted textiles, MSMEs and rural industries as sectors with immense employment potential and praised Vikas Vaibhav for converting personal conviction into a structured citizens’ movement.

Vijay Kumar Sinha commended the mobilisation of more than three lakh individuals under a unified developmental vision. He stressed that transparent governance and resolution of land and revenue disputes are essential for industrial expansion and investment. He assured cooperation for initiatives promoting entrepreneurship and employment generation.

Dilip Jaiswal described the summit as a serious policy aligned platform complementing the state government’s development agenda. He emphasised that industrial growth and road infrastructure must progress simultaneously and noted that investor friendly policies and improved connectivity are critical for reversing migration. He stated that the vision of district level start ups aligns with the state’s industrial roadmap.

Rajesh Verma, Member of Parliament from Khagaria, said the summit instilled confidence among youth and entrepreneurs and channelised positive civic energy into structured development. Arun Kumar, former Member of Parliament from Jehanabad, termed the summit a new phase in Bihar’s developmental discourse and underlined the importance of collective civic responsibility.

The summit witnessed the presence of public representatives and dignitaries including Mithilesh Tiwari, Sacchidananda Rai, Rajnish Kumar, Ratnesh Kushwaha, Rajeev Ranjan Singh, Sanjay Mayukh, Meena Singh, Rajkumar Singh, Nitya Pathak, Nilotpal Mrinal, Vishal Singh, Uday Patel, Kumar Rahul Naman, Navneet Kumar, Sanjeev Mukesh, Kishlay Kishor, Alok Kumar Ranjan and several other legislators and representatives. Coordinators and organisers including Ankit Kumar, Prabhakar Rai, Aashish Ranjan, Manglam Kumar, O P Singh, Mohan Jha, Binayak Prasad, Saroj Kumar, A K Jha, Krishna Kumar, Lav Kumar Singh, Shweta Surabhi, Prabhat Bhardwaj, Jyoti Jha, Nutan Pandey, Yash Upadhyay, Amit Thakur, Anil Jha, Sonu Sharma, Rohit Patel, Aakash Mishra, Sonu Thakur, Ganesh Ji, Rajnish Verma, Kanhaiya Kumar, Uday Pratap and Laxmi from London were also present.

Rohit Kumar, National Spokesperson of Let’s Inspire Bihar, said the summit’s scale and participation demonstrate growing national acceptance of the movement as a serious developmental platform. Indramohan Yadav, Chief Coordinator for Delhi NCR, stated that coordinated volunteer efforts ensured the dignified and seamless execution of the event.

The summit concluded with felicitation of contributors and a collective reaffirmation of the commitment to build a developed Bihar within a developed India by 2047. With broad representation from policymakers, entrepreneurs, social leaders, educationists and international delegates, the Bihar Development Summit 2026 marked a defining milestone in the evolution of Let’s Inspire Bihar from a civic initiative into a structured national developmental platform aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat.
