Jayant Chaudhary Flags Off Kaushal Rath In Sikar To Boost Youth Employability

Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Education Jayant Chaudhary on 7 January 2026 virtually flagged off the Kaushal Rath initiative in Sikar, Rajasthan, marking a major push to enhance skill awareness and employment readiness among youth, particularly in rural and underserved communities.

The initiative was launched from the Gramin Mahila Shikshan Sansthan in Sikar and formally commenced a district wide outreach campaign aimed at strengthening the local skill ecosystem and expanding access to government supported skill development and employment linked training opportunities.

Kaushal Rath is a flagship skill awareness and mobilisation programme designed to promote vocational training, skill development and job opportunities among young people. Through targeted outreach, the initiative creates awareness about government backed skill development schemes and facilitates enrolment into certified, industry aligned training programmes.

Addressing the launch virtually, Jayant Chaudhary said India’s development story will be written not only in metropolitan cities but also in districts such as Sikar. He said the focus is shifting from awareness to aspiration and from training to meaningful employment. According to him, initiatives like Kaushal Rath reflect a transition towards building skills that are rooted locally but relevant globally, preparing youth not only for current jobs but also for opportunities in an evolving economy.

As part of the programme, the Kaushal Rath, equipped as a skill awareness and mobilisation vehicle, will travel extensively across all blocks and gram panchayats of Sikar district to ensure maximum outreach and participation. The mobile unit will serve as a vital bridge between aspiring youth and training providers by promoting employment oriented courses, mobilising candidates from rural and semi urban areas and encouraging enrolment in certified skill programmes. Under the initiative, a total of 2,496 candidates in the district will be mobilised, trained, assessed and certified over a period of one year.

The event was attended by Rajasthan Urban Development and Housing Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra, former Rajasthan minister Chaudhary Narayan Singh, patron of GMSS Chayan Singh Arya and GMSS president Jhabarmal Singh, along with other dignitaries and stakeholders.

The initiative is expected to play a significant role in increasing employment opportunities, promoting self reliance and expanding livelihood options for youth in the district. Aligned with the national vision of Skill India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the Kaushal Rath in Sikar represents a focused effort to take skill opportunities closer to communities and empower young Indians with future ready skills.
