UIDAI Partners With Google To Display Verified Aadhaar Centres On Google Maps

The Unique Identification Authority of India has entered into a collaboration with Google to enable the display of authorised Aadhaar Centres on Google Maps, significantly improving access, transparency and convenience for residents across the country.

Under this initiative, users will soon be able to locate the nearest verified Aadhaar Centre directly through Google Maps and identify the specific services offered at each location. The listings will distinguish between centres providing adult enrolment, child enrolment, or limited services such as address and mobile number updates. This granular categorisation is expected to help residents make informed decisions before visiting a centre.

In addition to service details, the platform will display information related to infrastructure and accessibility wherever applicable. This includes divyang friendly facilities, availability of parking, and operating hours. By integrating these practical details into a widely used digital interface, the initiative seeks to reduce uncertainty, minimise inconvenience and streamline visits.

The facility is expected to be rolled out in the coming months.

The collaboration covers more than 60,000 Aadhaar Centres nationwide, including Aadhaar Seva Kendras. By ensuring that only verified centres appear in search results, the initiative aims to curb misinformation and prevent residents from being misled by unauthorised service providers. Users searching for Aadhaar-related services on Google Maps will be directed to officially recognised locations.

Bhuvnesh Kumar, CEO of UIDAI, said the Authority remains committed to enhancing ease of living for Aadhaar number holders and that the integration with Google Maps will make navigating authorised Aadhaar Centres simpler, faster and more transparent.

In the next phase of the partnership, UIDAI will leverage Google Business Profile to manage centre information more efficiently and respond directly to public feedback. This step is expected to strengthen accountability and create a more responsive service ecosystem.

Looking ahead, both organisations are exploring the possibility of enabling direct appointment booking through the Google Maps interface. If implemented, this feature would allow residents to schedule visits in advance, reduce waiting times and improve service planning.

Roli Agarwal, Country Head, Strategic Partnerships at Google India, said that integrating verified Aadhaar Centres into Google Maps will make it easier for millions of residents to access trusted services confidently, bridging the gap between essential government infrastructure and the people who rely on it.

The initiative marks a significant step towards integrating public service delivery with digital platforms, reinforcing efforts to make government services more accessible, citizen centric and technology driven.
